The New Audioarts D-70 From Wheatstone Adds Power,
Flexibility And Features To Digital Radio Consoles
Small and medium market radio stations now have a
full-featured, high performance, fully modular digital console designed
especially to meet their needs and budgets. Audioarts Engineering, a
division of Wheatstone, is introducing the D-70 digital radio console
featuring many of the same engineering and functionality usually found
only in higher end consoles.
All input modules on the D-70 feature A/B switching and
all digital inputs have standard sample rate conversion. The console has
analog and digital outputs for all four stereo mix busses. The D-70's
serial communications mates seamlessly with a station's automation
(including the AudioVAULT !) and routing systems. There are control room
and studio monitor modules with separate source-select and studio
talkback.
A dual-caller phone section on the D-70 has a DSP-generated
mix-minus and separate record outputs. The console also features a digital
timer with both manual and auto modes; console clock with ESE timecode
input; direct digital metering response switchable between VU and PPM and opto-isolated logic ports for all input module positions.
The D-70 has an external rackmount power supply and also
uses Wheatstone's unique V- DIPŠ software for simplified console set-up,
eliminating manual setting of dipswitches and the need for pulling every
module to reconfigure the console before use. The console has been
designed by the Wheatstone engineering team for superior sonic quality,
solid performance.
